Police investigation concluded with Parish Council cleared of any wrong-doing

Published: 21 November 2018

Holme Valley Parish Council was contacted by West Yorkshire Police in June who informed the Council that they had received an allegation of fraud from members of the public about the Parish Council and the Holme Valley Land Charity (which is an independent charity although the Council acts as its sole corporate trustee). As a result, we were informed that the Police Fraud Department would be investigating both organisations. The Parish Council co-operated fully with the comprehensive investigation and we are pleased to report that West Yorkshire Police has formally concluded that that there has been no malpractice whatsoever, and that the complaint is groundless.
