Council meetings are held in the Council Chamber,
Council Offices, Huddersfield Road, Holmfirth, on
Monday evenings and usually commence at 7.30pm
unless there is another prior meeting. Members of
the public are welcome to attend meetings to listen
to discussions.
Prior to the beginning of every council meeting,
there is an opportunity for members of the public to
put questions or to raise issues with the council.
The
council also holds public surgeries prior to some of
the committee meetings. This gives electors another
opportunity to raise concerns with councillors.

The Council has a number of
standing committees which deal with regular items and
recommend to the full Council actions to be taken, or
decisions to be approved. When necessary other
Sub-Committees and Working Groups are convened, which
report directly back to the main Committees and
ultimately the Council. The Committees are regulated by
Standing Orders, and Financial Regulations.
