The Parish Council organised a photography competition in Summer 2007.
The Holme Valley is famed for its landscape and over the years the Parish Council
has provided and maintained seats for the residents and visitors to rest and
enjoy the peaceful scenery and the busy town life.
There are over 150 seats in the Parish and residents were invited to send a photograph of
the scene from thier favourite Parish Council bench.
Below are some of the entries to the competition. The images shown are small versions of the originals, some of which are very large. To see the original, large image click on the image shown. Be patient, they may take time to download and display.
The Winner
Pauline Kaye,

This view from the bench on Hullock Bank, Jackson Bridge, overlooking Meal Hill and Hepworth is my favourite view.
I count myself fortunate that this view is within walking distance from home.
I like to rest here while pushing my bike up the hill. I look over my home in Honley and think how lucky I am to live here.
PS If you could just remove that b... electric pole it would be a lot better!
The photograph was taken at the top of Cartworth Moor.
I like the view because it is somewhere I often stop on my way home, on both day and night excursions, it reminds me that its all down hill from here...
