Former Cllr Judith Roberts served as a Parish Councillor from 2003 to 2023.

Holme Valley Parish Council is saddened to learn of the passing of former Parish Councillor Judith Roberts, who passed away on 5 October 2025, aged 76.

Judith served on the Parish Council for an impressive 20 years, representing the Netherthong ward from 2003 until 2023. During that time, she made a lasting contribution to the work of the Council and the wider Holme Valley community.

She served as Chair of the Planning Committee for thirteen years and was Chair of the Council in 2009, roles in which she was known for her dedication, local knowledge, and strong commitment to preserving the character of the Valley.

Former Chairman Trevor Bellamy said:

“Judith was someone who was very proud to be involved with the Parish Council. She thrived on working for the Holme Valley community, particularly on the planning side, and really valued the heritage of our Valley. Hers is a voice that will be missed.”

Former Chairman Paul Dixon added:

“I remember Judith as someone who was always very hands-on with her work for the Parish Council. She was a Councillor who did a lot of really valuable work for her Netherthong ward. May she rest in peace.”

Judith gave two decades of committed service to the Parish Council and to the people of the Holme Valley. Her thoughtful approach and deep care for the community will be remembered with gratitude.
