Holme Valley Parish Council was pleased to support this year’s Holmfirth Musical Festival with a £500 community grant towards running costs, helping organisers to stage another successful celebration of local musical talent.
Held over three days at Holmfirth Civic Hall (16–18 October 2025), the festival welcomed more entries than ever, using both the upstairs and downstairs halls to accommodate choirs, instrumental classes and the Rotary Millennium Contest.
Festival Administrator Helen Johnson thanked the Parish Council for its support and invited representatives to attend the sessions.
Vice Chair Cllr Lawrence Baylin attended the Saturday evening concert and described hearing “some amazing young musicians.” He added that organisers were appreciative of the Council’s grant assistance.
Holme Valley Parish Council awards community grants each year through its Finance & Management Committee to help local organisations deliver projects and events that benefit residents across the Valley.
