Remembrance Sunday Services Across the Holme Valley
On Sunday 9 November 2025, communities across the Holme Valley will come together to honour those who have served and lost their lives in conflict. Parish Councillors will lay wreaths at memorials throughout the Valley as part of local Acts of Remembrance.
Services and wreath-laying ceremonies will take place at:
- Holmfirth – 10.45 am service at Holy Trinity Parish Church. A wreath will be laid in the church as part of the service before being taken to the War Memorial at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital.
- Brockholes – 10.50 am wreath-laying at the War Memorial followed by a service at St George’s Church at 11.00am.
- Hepworth – 9.30 am service at Holy Trinity Church followed by an Act of Remembrance at the church lych gate.
- Holmbridge – 10.50 am wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial in the grounds of St David’s Church, followed by a service inside.
- Honley – 10.00 am service at St Mary the Virgin, followed by a procession to the War Memorial for the Act of Remembrance and wreath-laying. The procession will then return through the village centre, ending in People’s Park around 11.20am.
- Netherthong – 10.50 am ceremony at the War Memorial followed by a service in All Saints Church.
- New Mill – 10.30 am Remembrance Service at Christ Church, followed by a procession and indoor Act of Remembrance.
- Upperthong – 10.45 am service at St John’s Church followed by a Ceremony of Remembrance at the lych gate.
Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects at their local service.
