The community defibrillator at the Holmfirth public toilets has been used twice in recent weeks. The unit has now been fully checked, the pads replaced, and it is ready for use again.
There are a number of publicly accessible defibrillators across the Holme Valley, four of which are maintained directly by Holme Valley Parish Council. This equipment can make a critical difference in the first minutes of a cardiac arrest.
If you think someone is in cardiac arrest, call 999 immediately. The operator will direct you to the nearest defibrillator and provide any cabinet access code.
HVPC would like to extend sincere thanks to our volunteer community first aiders, who are often the unsung heroes attending incidents and supporting patients and bystanders while ambulance crews are on their way.
