Have Your Say on the Future of The Civic 25 June 2026

Holmfirth Civic Hall Community Trust, in partnership with Holme Valley Parish Council, is inviting local people to come along to the launch of a public consultation on early ideas for the future redevelopment of The Civic.

The launch event will take place at The Civic, Holmfirth, on Thursday 25 June. People are welcome to drop in between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, with presentations taking place from 7pm.

For generations, The Civic has played an important role in Holmfirth life, hosting performances, celebrations, meetings, classes, community events and countless local activities that have brought people together. It has always been a building for local people, and that principle remains at the heart of the plans for its future.

At the consultation launch, visitors will be able to hear more about the project, see some of the initial ideas, and hear from architect Tim Mosedale about the early thinking behind the proposals. There will also be an opportunity to find out how to get involved and share views as the plans develop.

The consultation is open to everyone, including community organisations, local groups, Civic users, residents, businesses and anyone with an interest in the future of this much-loved building.

Whether you use The Civic regularly, have memories of events there, or simply care about the future of community spaces in Holmfirth and the wider Holme Valley, your views, ideas and local knowledge will be important in helping to shape the next stage of the project.

There is no need to book. Please come along, hear more about the plans, share your ideas, and be part of the bigger picture.
