In June 2026 Holme Valley Parish Council agreed a new approach to how it considers planning matters. The Council resolved to bring the work of the former Planning Committee to a close and to establish a new Planning Steering Group in its place.
The Planning Steering Group will focus on the larger or more complex planning issues that have the greatest impact on the Holme Valley, while still ensuring that any parish councillor can ask for an application to be looked at in more detail. All planning applications will continue to be circulated to all parish councillors.
All meetings of the Planning Steering Group will be open to the public. Meetings will take place on Monday evening (please see the meeting schedule at the bottom of the home page for the meeting dates).
This new structure is intended to make the Council’s planning work more flexible, responsive and efficient, while maintaining opportunities for public engagement and councillor involvement in planning matters across the Valley.
