Celebrating our local businesses

Holme Valley Parish Council was delighted to give two local businesses a Gold Award in their annual Tidy Trader competition.  Bengal Spice Restaurant in Holmfirth and The Bridge pub in Holmbridge were presented with their certificates and trophies by Chairman of the Parish Council, Cllr Di Hall.

The Tidy Trader Award seeks to recognise businesses that take pride in their external appearance and thereby contribute to a more attractive and thriving Valley.  Local businesses are nominated by Parish Councillors and winners voted by the Council’s Publications & Communications Committee.

There were two stand-out businesses selected, one of which was a winner last year but judged by the Committee to have raised its standards even higher in 2018. Businesses across the Valley are considered and the Parish Council was very pleased to award two Gold Awards and three Silver Awards this year.

In addition to the two Gold Awards, Silver Awards were awarded to The Rock Inn, Brockholes, Bloc café, Holmfirth, and Catch Seafood Restaurant, Holmfirth.
