Holme Valley Parish Council is the first tier of local government covering the administrative area of the Holme Valley.

For the full Council year 2023-24, the Parish Council conferred grants totalling £121,417 on the following community groups:

  • Holmfirth Forward - £3,240 towards new lamp post display-poster brackets for Holmfirth centre  
  • Honley Village Community Trust - £578.50 towards an Easter Bunny tea-party for children
  • Honley Village Community Trust - £372 towards Easter craft workshops for children
  • Holme Valley Climate Action Partnership - £897 towards a local and vegetarian food event
  • Wooldale Community Group - £1,000 towards room-rent for the youth club and mother and baby club 
  • Honley Village Community Trust - £1,369 towards brushcutter/trimmer training
  • Friends of Cliff Rec - £655 towards a D-Day beacon-lightng event  
  • Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival - £1,500 towards refuse collection and street cleaning at the Festival

  • Hade Edge Residents Association - £2,000 towards a village green flower garden
  • Honley Village Community Trust - £2,640 towards tree-works at Southgate Woods
  • Upperthong Cricket Club - £2,050 towards replacement of clubhouse carpets 
  • Honley Business Association - £1,560 towards CCTV ,maintenance in the village.

Holme Valley Parish Council is the sole corporate Trustee of the Holme Valley Land Charity, so the councillors are all part of the Land Charity, as Members of the Trustee.
