NOTICE OF CASUAL VACANCY

HOLMFIRTH CENTRAL WARD

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in accordance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 that a casual vacancy has occurred in the Holmfirth Central Ward of Holme Valley Parish Council, as a result of the resignation of Councillor Glyn Barker.

An election to fill the vacancy will be held in accordance with the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986, if notice in writing of a request for the Election is received by the Returning Officer not later than the 12th day of March 2021.

The notice should be signed by ten electors from the Holmfirth Central Ward, giving their names and addresses, and should be sent to The Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Kirkgate Buildings, Byram Street, Huddersfield HD1 1BY by the above date.

If an election is requested, a poll cannot currently take place until Thursday 6 May 2021 as a result of the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 and the Coronavirus Act 2020.
